Responsibilitieso Perform environmental compliance monitoring to ensure facilities are operated and maintained in compliance with CBP environmental policy and applicable Federal, state, and local environmental regulations.
o Facilitate the successful planning and execution of a variety of environmental program meetings and ad hoc integrated project teams.
o Coordinate and accompany compliance inspectors at facilities and endeavor to resolve any environmental compliance deficiencies or Notices of Violation that may be observed and reported that are related, but not limited to, drinking water, spill prevention, solid and hazardous waste management, and personnel health and safety issues.
o Prepare routine and periodic facility environmental reporting to Federal, State and local regulatory agencies.
o Prepare and conduct site facility personnel training to ensure compliance with environmental policy and guidance.
o Assist program and project level acquisition support to include assisting with the compiling and documenting project requirements, scoping documents, market research, cost estimates and monitoring and reporting procurement timelines and milestones.
o Assist with managing, tracking, and reporting on budgets, funding spend plans for projects within the financial systems of record and with servicing agency partners and outside contractors.
o Analyze potential effects on the environment due to implementing the construction, repair, and improvement projects, prepare reports and documentation, and advise the PMs on the process of obtaining environmental approvals from the relevant agencies and stakeholders.
o Track and capture all ongoing environmental actions for assigned projects and update periodic reports to SharePoint and other tracking systems of record.
o Attend planning, review and compliance meetings to be conducted at locations nationwide.
o Perform on-site support and project environmental compliance audits and reporting to ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, Tribal, and policy environmental requirementsQualificationso Bachelor's Degree preferred or equivalent (e.
g.
, Years of experience may be substituted for education) and two (2) years of experience in environmental compliance is required.
o Attention to detail.
o Ability to clearly and effectively communicate both orally and in writing.
o Understanding of Federal, state, and local environmental regulations.
o Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (mainly Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
o Ability to pass a government background investigation, including financial, criminal, residential, educational, foreign affiliation, prohibited substance abuse, and employment verifications; active U.
