5 Quick Apply Full-time 1 day ago Full Job Description POSITION SUMMARY The Patient Access Representative will provide administrative support to medical staff, schedule follow- up appointments and complete all general front office duties.
The person in this role will use their skills to assist with the facilitation of patient care, work as part of the Care Team, while coordinating the flow of communication between nursing, medical and office staff.
RESPONSIBILITIES 1.
Greet patient and check patient in and out.
2.
Answer and process incoming telephone calls.
3.
Schedule incoming and follow up appointments.
4.
Confirm and reschedule appointments.
5.
Confirm dental insurance coverage.
6.
Direct non-patient visitors to the appropriate employee, deliver incoming packages.
7.
Keep waiting area and patient bathroom neat and tidy.
8.
Collect co-pay, sliding-fee, and payment of balance due from patient and issue receipts.
9.
Offer sliding-fee application and explain the sliding fee process.
10.
Obtain signed Releases of Information when necessary.
11.
Verify patient information with complete registrations, scan identification and insurance cards.
12.
Process MaineCare slips.
13.
Print off day sheet schedules for the next day.
14.
Enter charges and payments into the computer system and reconciling the end of day paperwork.
15.
Balance the cash drawer daily and complete bank deposit.
16.
Reconcile dental day sheet report for accuracy of charges and adjustments.
17.
Communicate with the patients and visitors with the utmost care, consideration and compassion.
18.
Participate in the Care Team as outlined in Team Approach to Care Protocol.
19.
Lock windows and doors and turn off lights.
20.
Aid in the cross-training of office personnel in front office procedures and scheduling procedures as needed.
21.
Present in neat, clean, and appropriate clothing and professional demeanor at all times.
22.
Performs additional duties or projects as assigned by the Practice Manager.
23.
Adheres to all KVHC policies and protocols.
24.
Complies with all safety rules and protocols.
Reports all incidents, regardless of severity, immediately to supervisor and completes an incident reports and investigation form, which will be forwarded to Human Resources within 24 hours of the incident.
25.
Be a good steward in the communities serviced by KVHC; represent the organization at outreach activities as needed.
